Chara from Undertale

After making Frisk last month, I made a Chara amigurumi to have a complete "set".

My daughter says they are "sisters" and likes to play with them together. Frisk is the "mad sister" and Chara is the "happy sister." Hahaha...

Again, I loved Undertale. I haven't had a game throw me through so many unpredictable loops in a long time. After watching so much anime, playing so many games, reading SO many books (I have a degree in English education) I feel jaded towards "twists" and predict most of them. I love being surprised and this game surprised me again and again. The charm in the writing was also wonderful, and Papyrus is just the greatest thing ever. Although Mettaton's theme is my favorite. :D (Seriously, the soundtrack is too fun.)

Yes, I get lots of weird looks when I photograph my crochet creations outside. These flowers grow at the park, so the soccer kids like to ask me what the heck I'm doing laying my doll down there to photograph.

Spoilers? Bonus image!

Frisk and Chara are made with a modified version of the Snow White's Dwarves pattern by Duchess Gala, found here:

  2. What kind of modifications did you make to the pattern? :)

    1. On the legs, before you join them together, I added another round to each leg.
I did color changes for the swearter three rounds after I joined the legs, then four rounds later I changed to yellow for the stripe. Three rounds for the stripe, then back to green.
I also added a little turtleneck type color after sewing the head on, just by top crocheting another row around. Totally just because. :)
The hair was just doing the head in a larger hook, then crocheting a few rows for the back of the hair and a row for some bangs. It was largely improvised and not written down, sorry!

Since I did not write the original pattern, I cannot publish the entirety of the pattern, just the modifications. You can see those in the comment above.
I hope you get your Chara soon!
