Purple Chinese Dragon

My sister-in-law had a birthday recently and needed a dragon. She may not have known it, but she definitely needed a dragon - everyone does, really. (Note: I am not making any more of these dragons. My heart can't take it!!)

I found this amazing pattern on ravelry by Gail Hovanec. She has updated the pattern with a new method to make the dragon squiggle. While doing this pattern, you will repeatedly be told to move the stitch marker. May I make a suggestion? Get two stitch markers. Leave one where it was originally in the round, and then follow her directions with the other. My daughter pulled out a few rounds when I wasn't looking and I was SO. LOST. Where was I? What round is this? WHAT YEAR IS THIS?

Anyways, it's a lovely pattern and I freely admit I fudged a few things to make it work despite my inaccuracy. (Print the pattern out! Highlight each row as you work on it! Use stitch markers!) So her dragons look a lot better than mine haha!

He is super cute and can be worn around your neck, curled up in a ball, or left out long guarding your dresser. He can hold himself up thanks to the squiggling. He has little flames on his joints because WHY NOT? And look at those horns, whiskers, and frills! Too cute, I highly recommend this pattern.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!
