Animal Crossing Gyroid Crochet Pattern

Little Gyroid Pattern
This pattern is written, created, published, and illustrated by The Craftzilla. Materials
E 3.5 Hook
Tan or yellow Yarn
Black felt or
Safety eyes (5mm oval), or beads
Glue gun for felt features
Yarn needle
Poly fill / Stuffing


Abbreviations
Mc – Magic circle
Sc – Single crochet
Sl st- Slip stitch
Hdc – Half double crochet
Inc – Increase, place two sc or hdc in one stitch
Dec- Decrease, I use invisible dec, but essentially make one sc over two stitches
Bl- back loops of a stitch, the ones furthest away from you when project is right side out
Fl- front loops of a stitch, the ones closest to you when project is right side out
*---* signals a set of stitches to be repeated
(_) indicates how many stitches should be in that round

Body
(Make 1)
In tan yarn
Worked in a spiral
Round 1) 6 sc in mc (6)
R2) Inc every stitch (12)
R3) *Sc, inc* x 6 (18)
R4) In bl, Sc around (18)














R5) Hdc around in front loops (18)
R6) Sc in the furthest back/third loop behind the hdcs (18)

R7-R12) Sc around normally for six rounds (18)
Fasten off, stuff.

Top
(Make 1)
In tan yarn
Worked in a spiral
Round 1) 6 sc in mc (6)
R2) Inc every stitch (12)
R3) *Sc, inc* x 6 (18)
R4-5) Sc around for two rounds (18)
Making sure your correct/right sides are facing outwards, place the top on the body where it's still open. 
R6) *2 hdc, inc* in fl of top and fl of gyroid body (24)
Fasten off, weave in ends













Stripe on top
(Make 1)
In tan yarn
Worked in rows
Row 1) Ch 7
R2) Turn and hdc in every stitch. Sl st to the beginning (6)
Leave a tail of yarn. Using yarn needle, pinch the stripe and sew stripe to top of gyroid. Do not sew it on flat, you want it to look like a helmet ridge.


Arms
(Make 2)
In tan yarn
Worked in a spiral
Round 1) 6 sc in mc (6)
R2-4) Sc around for 3 rounds (6)













R5) Making the joint in the elbow, skip three sc and ch 3 instead, then sc in final 3 st 
R6) Sc in the three chs and the three sc (6)













R7) Sc around (6)
fasten off
In the hole where the elbow is, sl st the ch and the previous row together, closing the hole and forming a 90-degree angle of the arm.













Sew arms to sides of Gyroid in with arms in opposite directions.













I decided to make a removable construction hat accessory, as well!













Construction Hat
(Make 1)
In yellow yarn
Worked in a spiral
Round 1) 6 sc in mc (6)
R2) Inc every stitch (12)
R3) *Sc, inc* x 6 (18)
R4) *Sc, sc, inc* x 6 (24)
R5-8) Sc around x 4 rows (24)
R9) *Hdc, inc* x 12 (36)
Fasten off













Stripe
(Make 1)
In yellow yarn
Worked in rows
Ch 9
R1) Hdc around and Sl st to first stitch of previous row (16)
R2) In single crochets: inc, sc 6, inc, inc, sc 6, inc (20)

Fasten off, sew to top of hat.

Add face to gyroid by cutting felt ovals and hot gluing to the gyroid body.
