I bought a pattern by Inventorium here. It is so well laid out and easy to follow for such a complicated looking product.
These look cute, but they will be even cuter on baby feet! Unfortunately, they came out a bit large so we may have to wait 6 months to see what they look like on him. Right now they would be thigh high sneakers! they have laces that can be tied in front, tucked in, or removed. I think on another pair I might try using thick elastic and no actual laces. We'll see!
