Sprouties

I made some little plant amigurumis for a baby set I'm working on. I can't use safety eyes, so I think the embroidered eyes are the way to go! I love their nubby little legs. I have two more sprouties to post tomorrow.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Fluffy Psyduck Plush and Slippers

Psyduck has always been my favorite Pokemon. Heck, ducks have always been my favorite animal. I can't believe it's taken me so long to finally crochet an amigurumi of Psyduck. I think seeing Detective Pikachu put me finally over the edge and I needed more Psyduck in my life. Such a cutie.

Luma from Mario Galaxy

Mario Galaxy is still one of my favorite games. I received it for Christmas when I was in high school, and that whooooole winter break I played it. I loved the Lumas most of all. Their shape, their ship, their music, their NOISES, oh it was all too cute. I remember my dad briefly watching me play and even he was like. Oh. Those star things are cute.

VALIDATED.

Ignis Scientia from FFXV

I thought FFXV was dumb at first. I didn't like the choice of characters, the layout, the initial story, the fighting system...
But hoooo boy after a certain chapter of the game that all changed.
I'm deep in the fandom, largely because Ignis Scientia is just such a precious friend to Noctis and I. CAN'T. HANDLE. IT.

King Pudding from Idolish 7

This amigurumi was made for a friend on Twitter (her art is gorgeous, by the way, you should check it out at gotkooties.storenvy.com).

King Pudding was so fun to put together and I love his soft brown eyes and...uhm... content expression? He is from the anime Idolish 7! If you like stunning boy band/idol/pop star journeys to success + hijinks and feelings, this is your jam. Or you could just admire King Pudding because he is so cute.

Have a great weekend!

Glanter from Ooblets

I know it's July! But this cutie needed to be made so Bristlebud wouldn't have to brave the mail carrier service alone.

Glanter is another creature from Glumberland's upcoming game, Ooblets. Isn't he cool looking??

Bristlebud from Ooblets Pattern

Have you heard about Ooblets? Per their website, "Ooblets is an upcoming farming, creature collection, and town life indie game inspired by Pokémon, Harvest Moon, and Animal Crossing. Manage your farm, grow and train your ooblets, explore strange lands, and battle wild ooblets and other ooblet trainers." Creature collection?? I'm in! And as you know I'm in love with cacti (fortunate since I live in the desert). So when I saw Bristlebud, I fell in love and had to make one. If you feel the same, here is a pattern to make your own. This one is not as easy as my other patterns, so take it slow and feel free to comment here or on Facebook if you need some help!

Another Day, Another Charmander

By far, the Pokemon I've crocheted the most is  Charmander. I made a Bulbasaur for my nephew a while back when he was first born. Well, I didn't know how to crochet when his older brother was initially born, so 5 years later, he gets a Charmander to match with his brother's Pokemon.

I used that Blue Phone Studios T-Rex pattern again, but altered the head to make it more Charmander like, as well as omit the stripes and add on the yellow tummy.

He has a jingle bell sealed inside a capsule placed inside his tummy so he jingles when you shake him, just like the Bulbasaur I made. I love that he stands up on his own (amigurumi with tails are great for this).

I hope you are all well!

Happy Mer-May!

Hello everyone!
I am having fun designing some new amigurumi mermaids. I wanted more of a curled up pose for the mermaid, rather than just sitting up or lying flat.

I had fun making her hair out of brushed out yarn fibers that I ran a low temp iron over to make shiny.

I've been doing a lot of pastel colored items lately so it was great to just over saturate and use colors that pop.

Expect to see more mermaids, I still have more color combos I want to do!
(If interested in commissioning a custom mermaid, feel free to contact me! Pricing starts ~$45)

Have a great May!

Free Cactus Pattern

Hello everyone!
I just finished another mini con at the library and I brought these cute cacti with me. They were very popular and received a lot of compliments. (The cacti were very humble about the whole thing). Here is the pattern to make your own! It's very quick and easy once you understand back loops vs front loops.

Snubbull Pattern

Here's another Pokemon pattern, this time for a Generation 2 Pokemon, Snubbull!
With the new Pokemon Go update, I've been seeing a lot of Snubbulls in my neighborhood and decided to make a pattern for one. It took a few tries, but I'm happy with this one. Please let me know if I made any typos or mistakes - I have no proofreaders!

Finally, Flareon!

Have you ever had a project that took forever? And then you finally finish that project after so many failures and you just have this sense of relief? That would be this Flareon amigurumi.

Okay, dogs/horses/cats/ etc always confound me with their legs. There are joints going every which way and recreating that seamlessly with amigurumi is HARD. Also, their necks are confusing. Flareon looked reeeeally strange before I got that neck fluff added. So, this project has been going on for like...18 months. Every time I would make Flareon I'd start putting the pieces together and I'd realize it looks awful/not proportional/legs are weird etc, frog the whole thing (or just stash the body parts) and have to stay away from it for a while.

But finally, FINALLY a week ago it all came together and I'm SO happy it came out good looking this time!

I felted the eyes. You can't see it very well, but I had fun making little lime green highlights within the dark green to make it even cuter.

The fluff is baby fluff yarn again, and it's sooooo soft and cozy (and squishy). I really hope its new owner loves it--I wanted it to be perfect for her!

I'm so happy it's done. I did attempt to use a pattern for this one. However, I think the author is still working through it and it's a rough draft, because certain parts just did not turn out correctly for me...so I just winged it. Honestly, maybe it was just me not being able to comprehend the pattern after so many attempts on my own! So don't ask me for advice on this one, because I don't have any. This has been a very humbling experience. There is always something to learn, I guess!
Thanks NerdPillo for the pattern to start off with! See it here:

I hope all of your projects are turning out beautifully!

Pikachu, take two!

Halloween has come and gone, and I didn't craft NEARLY as many things as I wanted to. I'll chat more about that at the bottom, since most of you are here for Pikachu. :)

While I love using 53 Stitches pattern for Pikachu and many other Pokemon, I found Studio Crafti's Pikachu pattern and thought it was super cute. Unfortunately, they took the written pattern down recently for revisions, so the Pikachu in these photos might be different than their new pattern indicates. They still have their tutorial up on YouTube, however:

Punkin Pumpkin Pattern

I love Halloween, October, autumn, pumpkin-cinnamon-apple-caramel flavored things, and busting out the decorations this time of year. Here's a small one you can whip up rather quickly! I've been working on this pattern for a while, actually, but could never get a consistent result. They ended up being too squashed (puns!) looking, too round like an orange, too wide of a mouth, etc etc. Finally, I downsized it and made a pattern that works time after time. Please let me know if you find any errors or have any questions. Enjoy!

Owl Purse Pattern

Whoooo needs an owl purse free pattern? My daughter likes to wear her purse when going out to just carry random toddler junk. A plastic dinosaur, a used sticker, some rocks, you know, important things to bring to Target every trip.

You can easily crochet a longer strap and make one for yourself as well! I made some really long ones and knotted the extra at the top just in case. Please make sure you don't give these to unsupervised LITTLE little kids, it could be a strangling hazard.

Moving on, these purses are quick to make (about an hour) and turn out pretty fool proof. Accidently did too many rows of one color? Missed an increase? Probably NO ONE will notice! I made the first four purses without writing down the full pattern before I finally sat down and made decisions on when to change colors etc. So you can tweak it to your liking!

Again, I feel like I'm too wordy in my patterns, so please contact me if it doesn't make sense! You can email me at thecraftzilla@gmail.com or message me on Facebook.

You can download the pattern PDF via Google Drive HERE!
Here is the typed out URL if needed:

Again, please do not sell or repost this pattern. Please give credit to The Craftzilla when showing off and selling your items online. Thank you!!

Birds and Booths

Phew, I finally did it! I had my first ever booth at a convention.
Okay, okay, so it was the teeniest tiniest convention ever at my cute local library, but I still had fun.
Speaking of fun, check out these awesome birbs I whipped up. Seriously, it's an awesome and quick pattern.

Baby Articuno Pattern

Every month has had a Legendary Pokemon assigned to it by Nintendo for their anniversary. Word is that bird is the word for this month. ;) Kind of. At some point some special versions of the legendary birds--Zapdos, Articuno, & Moltres-- will be available for download. So I'm following that up with a free Articuno pattern for download!

Amish Puzzle Ball

I am ALL about this puzzle ball. The pattern is from Look At What I Made, I highly recommend looking around at her website--it's full of gems like these.
Anyways, my friend is having a baby and this ball will be a perfect toy for him to play with.
