Delicious Bradley the Button Collecting Mushroom
You've probably noticed a certain aesthetic in my creations; that I have a preference towards certain looking creatures. Plant looking creatures are my favorite. So when I saw Adam Ellis' character Delicious Bradley (whose birthday is "often") I knew I had to make him.

Happy Mer-May!
Hello everyone!
I am having fun designing some new amigurumi mermaids. I wanted more of a curled up pose for the mermaid, rather than just sitting up or lying flat.
I had fun making her hair out of brushed out yarn fibers that I ran a low temp iron over to make shiny.
I've been doing a lot of pastel colored items lately so it was great to just over saturate and use colors that pop.
Expect to see more mermaids, I still have more color combos I want to do!
(If interested in commissioning a custom mermaid, feel free to contact me! Pricing starts ~$45)
Have a great May!

Big Mermaid, Big Hair
Putting hair on these dolls is the most difficult parts of amigurumi. I seriously have not found a method I love yet. However, this mermaid really pulls it off with some fluffy, Isaac Mizrahi yarn.

Frisk from UNDERTALE
Of course I got sucked into the UNDERTALE craze! Last October I had a blast playing through the game. I laughed, I almost cried, I threw a handful of m&ms in frustration at some of the battles, it was a good playthrough. It was also the first time since having my daughter that I've stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish a game.

Wonder Woman Doll
Sometimes, being able to crochet dolls and plush is so empowering. Can't find what you want at the store? Companies aren't making products of a certain character? Well then, make it yourself!
I did just that with this sweet Wonder Woman doll. Maybe more of a Wonder Gal, as she is based off of my daughter's friend from preschool. Emmy came home from preschool telling me that Wonder Woman came to their classroom and played games with them. Turns out her friend held her birthday party at the school and had one of those party companies send a Wonder Woman there! I thought that was super cool, and so I got to work on a very belated gift for her friend.

Kirby and Waddle Dee
My sister asked for these two cuties for her birthday.
I made them so they can do their traditional dance and high five. It was also important that they could stand on their own for display.

TMNT - Enter Michelangelo!
I love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is embarrassing how much I loved them in 8th-9th grade. My little brother was creeped out by how much I obsessed about the run of the show at that time. The writing was really good at the time and the voice actors made the show super enjoyable. I had a diary that was actually more like an episode summary book for my subsequent geocities webpage for the series.

Pearl Doll
I love Steven Universe. I don't care if it is a kid's show, I LOVE it. The characters are so intriguing with their own flaws and skills. My favorite character (perhaps other than Greg Universe, the dad) is Pearl.

Mermaids in the Summer
Summer time! Which means the ocean and swimming, right? After making that whale earlier and cosplay outfits for Splatoon, I was on a roll. Now we have a mermaid to add into the mix.

Crocheting gifts and working on patterns!
I'm in progress with a new aspect of crochet--writing patterns. I've been amazed at how much harder it is to write down and explain a pattern than to just go go go and make something. I hope to have a Valentine's themed amigurumi up by next week, and then a cute spring critter after that. That Valentine's one is KILLING me though--I have three prototypes that are looking at me sadly from my crochet bag with wonky parts and pieces. But I'll keep trying, because I sketched it up and thought it was cute :)
Here are some projects I finished:
Another Toadette! My sister asked me to make her one for her birthday. I think it turned out alright, but now that I've seen Toad's Treasure Tracker, I wish I had made her in that cute khaki outfit! Her feet have been weighted so that she can stand on her own.
A friend of mine had a cute, chubby baby in the fall and I made him a hat and shoes. Unfortunately, I gave it so late I don't think he could wear it... Oh well, it's the thought that counts! I also used a "crab stitch" for the finish. I like it, but it took me forever to figure it out!
Alright, alright, those Valentine headbands DO come in traditional colors, too.
And I forgot to post this proof that Emmy WILL wear some things I crochet!! Don't mind that I'm holding her hand away from pulling it off. :)
Back to the drawing board.

There's a rumor in St. Petersburg
Let me tell you, this blogging thing is not as easy as some people make it look! My hat's off to them.
I've been working on this project for a long time now. It's a completely handmade, original pattern, custom commission for a Princess Anastasia doll that needed to be SPOT.ON. I wish I could share the story behind why this customer requested this doll, as it is very sweet and heartfelt, but in summary this is a doll that will be a family heirloom. No pressure or anything, right? (I may or may not have redone each part of the doll two or three times...)
